Just before three years ago, 4 anxious city residents, envisioned a different area of culture in Thessaloniki. An area which was lacking for years from the city, an area which embraces the mousical and artistic acts of the city with sincerity. With that philosophy as a base they took initiative and gave life again to one of the most city's historica music venues the old Ydrogeios. Block 33 begun in August of 2009 with a 3days music festival in which 33 bands of the city participated. This festival went down in history as visited by more than 4,000 people. The support of people from the first day of the opening of the venue was shocking. This support with the love of people inspired then and the staff  of BLOCK 33, and engaged in an unrelenting barrage of music and culture, which Thessaloniki had many years to meet, Every week the cultural center Block 33 accommodates favorite music bands from Greece and around the world, sophisticated music producers from the 4 corners of the planet, experimental theatrical performances, institutions and festivals, supports with excess dedication commendable efforts of young artists, highlights musical groups, promotes musical sounds not popular, gives space and time to new musicians for expression and communication with the city's audiance. The multiplex culture center BLOCK 33    , very soon became a way of life, listened the city's concern and created a new philosophy of entertainment, away from fleeting situations and petty bourgeois behaviors.
